My Year With Mr Roil/2013

What I enjoyed most this year was doing Christmas art with Mrs O'kane. For example when we did the Christmas caravan. We had to work with a buddy and my buddy was Heith. I also liked the sport activities that all the year fives did when the year six’s went on camp. We did five different activities and my favorite one was weaving with the rope through the little holes.

The thing I enjoyed doing most with Mrs Roil was the night walk on the last night of camp. Where we had to find about nine pages of paper that had one word on each. And at the end it made a hole sentence.

So there’s three things that I enjoyed most this year.

Today for our experiment we found out if the air from the hair dryer could lift a ping pong ball.

You Will Need:

1.A hair dryer.

2. A ping pong ball.

To start off you need to hold the hair dryer as still as you can and slowly place the ping pong ball on top. Then the ping pong ball will go up and the reason it goes up and not to the side is because the force around the hair dryer allows the ball to only go up. But when we put two balls on the hair dryer one of the balls would push the other one off. If one person blows the ball while the hair dryer is on it will not fall off. But if three or more blow on it it would fall off.

Balloon Experiment

What happens when air gets hot? Today I will do five paragraphs about our experiment that we did today. The first paragraph will be about what you need,the second one will be about how to immerse in hot water,The third one will be about observation,the fourth one will be about particles and how the heat caused movement,and the last one will be about expanding.

1.You will need half a bucket of cold water and half a bucket of HOT water, two balloons,and  two used plastic bottles. You need to put the balloons on top of the plastic bottles and carefully with tongs you put one bottle in the bucket with hot water on it’s side and the balloon will expand. If you put the other bottle in the cold water It will do nothing and that it called a state of  Inertia.

2.To make this science project you need to immerse the bottle in water. If you don’t know what immerse means it means when you surround something or someone with an object. The steam is rising into the bottle and then it goes into the balloon because it has no where else to go,and it makes the balloon expand. If you leave it in for too long it might pop.

3.On the day we did the experiment we needed to observe the experiment or I wouldn't be able to tell you all this stuff that I’m telling you right now. If you don’t know what observe means it means to sit down and kind of study it or watch it for a long time.

4. The balloon inflated in the hot water because the hot steam raised in the the bottle and the steam had no where else to go so it had to go into the balloon and that's how the balloon inflated. With the cold water one It didn't move and again that is called a state of inertia.

5.The Balloon expanded because the hot air in the bottle had nowhere else to go.So it had to go in the balloon. And that's how the balloon expanded.

The egg drop

What Happened

Splash the egg falls in the the cup YAY you did it Paige.  When my group did it Paige was first you need to  pull the plastic plate as fast as you could. We needed a used toilet paper roll,a plastic plate,an egg,and a cup half filled with water. you put the toilet paper roll on the middle of the plastic plate and then you put the egg on top of the toilet paper roll, and the plate goes on top of the cup. Then you pull the plate as fast as you can,and the egg should fall in.

Mini Golf In Taupo

Mini Golf In Taupo  

WHACK, as I hit the ball with my stick. ‘ Hole in one’ I yell out to my family.  ‘Your turn uncle Hayden try beat that. ‘oh no’ my uncle Hayden said I didn't get a hole in one.  there is 1-18 holes that you have to go to.  The last one had a cave that your ball had to go through.  I gave my aunty Tt a turn on the last hole she hit the ball so hard all we could hear at that moment was SMACK,the ball had gone over the ledge into the garden and then splash in the pond it goes,and who has to get it me.  I was all wet on the sleeve so we gave the lady at the counter the stick and our balls got in the car,went home for lunch.
